Running in my sleep

Did I listen to Maria’s excellent advice? No I didn’t. Instead, I decided to participate in the March Yogathon my studio is putting on. My goal was/is to go 4.5 days a week. (I could explain how I got to 4.5, but it would take too long. So I’m going to ask that you just go with it.) See how well that’s working out for me?

Of course starting the Yogathon with a week of sick didn’t help. And now life just keeps getting in the way. I’m finding that I don’t have enough time in the day to do all the things required of me:

  • Eat
  • Sleep
  • Run
  • Sit on the couch
  • Blog
  • Yoga
  • Watch television
  • Shower
  • Work
  • Pee

Some of these things I can do at the same time.  For example, I can sit on the couch, eat and watch television all at the same time.  My shower configuration is such that I’m forced to hold the standing head to knee setup while shaving my legs, and I find tree pose is most convenient for washing my feet.  But I don’t plan on blogging on the toilet so something has to give.

Anyone interested in paying me to workout?  I could run and stretch up a storm if I didn’t have to do this whole work thing everyday.

  1. Great post! There is never enough hours in the day. I like the shower yoga, just don’t slip! I’ll have to brainstorm about other multitasking options!

  2. I hate it when life gets in the way. Just take a deep breath and prioritize! When all else fails, it isn’t horrible to take a break from working out or yoga for a few days. Relaxing and taking care of yourself is also part of a healthy lifestyle. 🙂

  3. The person above you on that yoga list is either a major gunner or doesn’t have a full-time job. 😉 Whatever – I say do what you can and don’t stress about it.
