On yoga

Did I mention I can’t do yoga either?  This is a bummer because I love yoga.  It’s also done wonders for my back.  If you’ve read my About Me section you’ll know that through Bikram yoga I was able to recover from chronic back pain.

So it should come as no surprise to any of us that my back pain is back (no pun intended).  For whatever reason it’s the worst in the morning, after laying down (in bed) all night.  The only way to get any relief is to stop laying down.  Go figure.

So I found myself up at 5:15 the other Saturday because the pain got to be too much.  A half hour later Jason waddled into the living room with sleep in his eyes and said:

“You know what this means?”
“What’s that?”
“We’re getting old.”
“Oh, because we’re both up at 5:45 on a Saturday?”
“Yeah, but that’s somewhat due to my back.”
“If we were younger, you would be hungover, passed out from a night of partying and sleep through your back pain.”
“Good point.”

  1. I hear you! I woke up at 5:55 to go run at 7. Seriously, when did this happen? I think I am going to get wasted now just to get over this fact! I hope your back feels better soon 🙂

  2. I can’t do yoga either. Not because of health reasons, but because I have the patience of a bolt of lightning and the flexibility of a railroad tie.
    At least you have a legit excuse.
