Blowout

As a result of the whole breastfeeding debacle, I still worry that Ruby is not getting enough to eat.  They tell me babies are supposed to seem content between feedings, and I just don’t know that I see it. She seems pretty at ease while she’s nursing and while she’s sleeping. Otherwise, this is the predominant face.

And since we can’t weigh her everyday, the only thing we really have to go on is her pees and poos.  I’ve talked to a lady from La Leche League a couple times and she tells me, “The more blowouts the better.”

Well, I suppose this is a good sign then?

That is the poop that happened after Jason opened her diaper (to take care of the poop that happened in her diaper).

And here is the rest of it.

Ruby put it there all by herself.  I was so proud.

  1. If you were to ask me what I *don’t* miss about babies, it would definitely be the poop. My kids were champion poopers – they would blow out the diaper, up to the shoulder blades, down to the ankles, all over everywhere. Yikes. I think it’s a safe bet that little Ruby is doing just fine.
